Sofia Airport presents a logo that cleverly combines tradition and new horizons. The stylized image intertwines hidden symbols with Sofia’s distinctive landmarks. It is modern, dynamic and aims to contribute to the overall new look of Sofia Airport.
The logo is a combination of the airport’s international code SOF and a seemingly hidden match of the letters IA in SOFIA, which can be read as International Airport in English. As well as being linked to the airport, the logo weaves in a stylized image of Mount Vitosha as the dome of the letter A, reinforcing the airport’s associative link with the surrounding capital city and the natural attractions around it.
Another element is the departing plane, which forms the English letter I. The shape of all the letters is reminiscent of the airport apron. The chosen colours are also not accidental. They are a mix of the colours of the Bulgarian nature with a reference to the care for the environment as a basic value for SOF Connect.
The message the logo conveys is new horizons on the way to transforming the capital’s airport into a 5-star regional airport. In line with the new visual identity, a complete rebranding of Sofia Airport is also coming in the following months. The corporate website and social media pages have already been rebranded.
The logo has been developed in partnership with advertising agency Noble Graphics, which is working on the project for a completely new visual identity for the airport.
