We would like to inform passengers and visitors of Sofia Airport that аs of 1 May 2022, parking prices will change at Sofia Airport’s two public car parks in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Details can be found here.

Level B1 of the public car parking at Terminal 2 is temporarily closed. The remaining parking levels are at your disposal. While we apologize for any inconvenience caused, we kindly ask you to observe the parking organization in place.

As of 1 May 2022 all COVID-19 related travel restrictions are lifted.

Information about travelling to different countries is published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.

All scheduled flights arriving in the time range 8 pm–8 am will be served only at Terminal 2. This will facilitate faster processing of documents and the passing of passengers. There will be no change for flights landing on schedule before 8:00 at Terminal 1. They will not move to Terminal 2 to avoid the inconvenience of travelers and their meters and greeters. All business flights will be operated at Terminal 1.

 

Covid laboratories

For the convenience of travelers, COVID-19 testing laboratories have been set up in the public areas of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 to issue the necessary travel health certificates.

The PCR test result is ready within 2 hours and the antigen test within 20 minutes. The services are available not only to arriving and departing passengers, but also to all citizens.

SOFIA AIRPORT AWARDED 2021 EMPLOYEE

At a special ceremony, SOF Connect announced its 2021 Best Employee, marking the beginning of a good tradition to honour colleagues with the greatest contribution to the company’s development.

The Employee of the Year initiative is SOF Connect’s senior management concept and recognizes people as the company’s most valuable asset and driving force in achieving its sustainable growth. In his opening remarks, Jesús Caballero, CEO of SOF Connect, thanked all colleagues for their dedicated work. “Our airport is open 24 hours a day thanks to you and your work,” Mr. Caballero said at the awards ceremony.

After a transparent vote the jury, which included managers of the company and trade union representatives, appointed Evgenia Tomova as employee of 2021. Evgenia is a translator with many years of experience at Sofia Airport. She received the award for her outstanding professional contribution to the transformation process and her commitment to the translation of all technical documents. In the presence of colleagues and trade union representatives, Jesús Caballero personally presented Evgenia Tomova with the award – a SPA-weekend for two.

Five special awards were also given in individual categories, the first of which was for the highest level of professional commitment. Philip Gounev – member of the Supervisory Board of SOF Connect, awarded Borislav Iliev from the Security Division for his professional commitment and assured of the Supervisory Board’s continuous efforts to support the company’s development.

The second individual category was for the employee with the highest level of integrity, which in a fair competition was won by Milena Ivanova from the Human Resources, Administration and Social Activities Division, and the award was presented by Henning Pfisterer – COO of SOF Connect.

The third special award, for the employee with the highest level of respect, was received by Mirela Geleva from the Marketing, Purchasing and Logistics Division and presented by Iliya Kardashliev – CFO.

For the highest level of agility was awarded Iva Mladenova from the Media and Digital Communications Division, who received congratulations personally from Ekaterina Yordanova – President of the Union of Transport Trade Unions. In her emotional address to the winners and nominees, the union leader highlighted the good dialogue with the management of SOF Connect and compliance with the commitments made in terms of staff and working conditions.

On behalf of SOF Connect, a representative of Civil Aviation at the Trade Union “Support” presented the fifth special award, which is for the implementation of the highest level of sustainable development standards. Boris Damyanov of the Internal Control and Information Services Division.

Employee of the Year is the first internal corporate competition with developed criteria and evaluation system of SOF Connect. The company aims to recognize the leadership and professional achievements of those employees who have been a benchmark and measure of standards in their profession during the past year.
