Sofia Airport will be cleaned by the German company Sasse Aviation Services GMBH from the beginning of March 2022. The contract will be for a period of 3 years with an option to extend it for another 1 plus 1 years and covers the maintenance of the hygiene of both terminals. The company has 45 years of experience, being responsible for the hygiene of the one and only 5-star European airport – Munich Airport (a partner in the consortium that manages the Sofia Airport concession), and 11 other European ones, including those in Hamburg, London (Luton and Gatwick), Düsseldorf, Cologne, Edinburgh and others.
The company’s offer includes high-tech solutions, including the usage of specialized sensors and software to monitor the areas, as well as innovative machine cleaning technologies. Intelligent systems will monitor the quantities of hygiene materials required and the number of occupants, enabling significantly more efficient process management. Dedicated training for employees and a completely new quality control system will ensure the cleanliness of the airport.
All Sofia Airport employees previously responsible for hygiene will be transferred to the new company.
“The technology offered by Sasse Aviation Services GMBH will not only improve cleanliness, but also will allow us to save resources and to monitor processes digitally. This will benefit both passengers and the airport,” said Henning Pfisterer, COO of SOF Connect.
“Contracting a company with the reputation of Sasse Aviation Services GMBH is a solution that will ensure the cleanliness of the airport and the comfort of passengers. We also have a full commitment to our existing employees. They will retain all terms and conditions of their employment when they are transferred to the operating company,” said Jesus Caballero, CEO of SOF Connect.
